Steven W. Oweida, MD, FACS
is a partner at Vascular Surgical Associates, PC in
Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Oweida received his undergraduate
degree in Life-Sciences, graduating Summa Cum Laude at the
University of Pittsburgh in 1979. He then graduated from
Emory University School of Medicine, Magna Cum Laude,
receiving his MD in 1983. His internship and residency in
General Surgery at Emory University were completed in 1988,
followed by a two year Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Emory
that he completed in 1990. He is a member of the Board of
Trustees of Wellstar Health System and is the current
Vice-Chairman. He is Board Certified in Surgery and
Vascular Surgery. He is active in many specialty societies,
including the American College of Surgeons, the Southern
Association of Vascular Surgeons, and the Society of
Vascular Surgery. Dr. Oweida’s special interests include
Carotid Stenting, Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm repair,
minimally invasive treatment of PAD, and research involving
innovative treatments for vascular disease. He is also a
Registered Vascular Technologist. His Hospital appointments
include Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and Wellstar Cobb
Hospital.
Arun Chervu, MD, FACS
is a partner at Vascular Surgical Associates, PC in Marietta,
Georgia. Dr. Chervu received his undergraduate degree in
Chemical Engineering at Princeton University in Princeton, New
Jersey, graduating Magna Cum Laude and received his Doctor of
Medicine from Cornell University Medical College in New York in
1984. He completed his surgical residency and fellowship at
UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA in 1992. He was an
assistant professor of surgery at the University of Texas
Southwestern Medical Center-Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas
from July 1992 to June 1995. Dr. Chervu is Board Certified in
Surgery and has Board Certification for Added Qualifications in
General Vascular Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American
College of Surgeons and is a member of the Atlanta Vascular
Society, the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery and the
American Association of Vascular Surgery. Dr. Chervu's hospital
appointments include Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and Wellstar
Cobb Hospital. He is actively involved in clinical research and
is Director of Clinical Trials for Vascular Surgical Associates.
Jeffrey
M. Reilly, MD, FACS
is a partner at Vascular Surgical Associates, PC in
Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Reilly received his undergraduate
degree in Chemistry at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH,
graduating in 1981, and received his Doctor of Medicine at
the Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, NH in 1985. Dr.
Reilly did his General Surgery residency at Yale University
School of Medicine. He completed his Vascular Surgical
Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in
St. Louis, Missouri. He remained there on the surgical
faculty for 6 years prior to coming to Marietta in 1999. He
is Board Certified in Surgery with the added Board
Certification qualification in Vascular Surgery. He has
special interest in minimally invasive endovascular
techniques as well as more traditional surgery for carotid,
aortic, and lower extremity arterial disease. Dr. Reilly's
hospital appointments include Wellstar Kennestone Hospital
and Wellstar Cobb Hospital.
Gary M. Jacobson, MD, FACS
is a partner at Vascular Surgical
Associates, P.C. in Marietta, GA since 2002. He did his
undergraduate training at the University of Texas in Austin,
TX. He attended medical school at the University of
Illinois at Chicago and received is MD in 1993. His
Internship and Residency were completed at the University of
Chicago where Dr. Jacobson also did two years of basic
science research and graduate school, receiving his Masters
Degree in 1997. His Fellowship in Vascular Surgery was
performed at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr.
Jacobson is Board Certified in Vascular Surgery and General
Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of
the American College of Surgeons and a member of the
International Society for Vascular Surgery and the Atlanta
Vascular Society. He is a Certified Wound Specialist by
The American Academy of
Wound Management. Doctor Jacobson is on staff at Wellstar
Kennestone and Cobb Hospitals. Special interests include
minimally invasive endovascular surgery, vein surgery,
aneurysm repairs and bypass grafting. Dr. Jacobson enjoys
traveling with his family and has been playing the guitar
for over thirty years.
Hector M. Dourron, MD, FACS
is a partner at Vascular Surgical Associates, PC in Marietta,
Georgia. Dr. Dourron received his undergraduate degree at the
University of Buenos Aires in 1990 and Doctor of Medicine at the
University of Buenos Aires in 1994. Dr. Dourron then went on to
complete his General Surgery Internship and Residency Training
at State University of New York at Stony Brook, New York in
2001. Dr. Dourron completed his fellowship in Vascular Surgery
at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan in 2003. He is Board
Certified in Surgery as a Diplomat of the American Board of
Surgery. Dr. Dourron 's hospital appointments include Wellstar
Kennestone Hospital and Wellstar Cobb Hospital. Dr. Dourron is
fluent in both English and Spanish and has special interests in
minimally invasive endovascular surgery techniques, management
of carotid disease, aortic aneurysms and peripheral bypass
grafting.
Charles
W. Wyble, Jr., MD, FACS
is a partner at
Vascular Surgical Associates, PC in Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Wyble
is Board Certified in Surgery with the added Board Certification
qualification in Vascular Surgery. He is a Diplomat of the
American Board of Surgery. His clinical interests include the
endovascular and operative treatment of aortic aneurysms,
carotid disease including stenting, lower extremity occlusive
disease, varicose veins and dialysis access. Dr. Wyble received
his biomedical and electrical engineering degrees from Duke
University and his medical degree from Hahnemann University in
Philadelphia. He completed his general surgery training at The
University of Chicago Hospitals as well as a vascular research
fellowship. Dr Wyble acquired further specialty training during
a two-year vascular fellowship at Barnes-Jewish
Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis. The focus of this
education was minimally invasive procedures including
angiography, angioplasty and stenting. Dr. Wyble started his
practice in 2001 and has held faculty appointments at Washington
University and The University of Michigan. He is a fellow of the
American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of
Vascular Surgery. Dr. Wyble has staff privileges at Wellstar
Kennestone and Wellstar Cobb Hospitals.
John E. Jones, MD
is a partner at
Vascular Surgical Associates, PC in
Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Jones
received his undergraduate degree
in English Literature at the University of Georgia in 1994. He
received his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of
Georgia in 1998. He completed his surgical residency in 2005 at
Boston University Medical Center, followed by his Vascular
Surgery Fellowship in 2007 at Massachusetts General Hospital.
His hospital appointments include Wellstar Kennestone Hospital
and Wellstar Cobb Hospital.
Shariq Sayeed, MD
received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Emory University
in Atlanta, GA, graduating in 1994. He received his Doctor of
Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in 1998. He
completed his surgical residency in 2005 at the University of
Rochester in Rochester, NY, followed by his
Vascular/Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of
Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Sayeed is
certified in Vascular Sonography by the American Registry of
Diagnostic Medical Sonography and has special interests in
minimally invasive endovascular surgical techniques, management
of carotid disease, aortic aneurysms, peripheral bypass
grafting, and carotid stenting. His hospital appointments
include Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and Wellstar Cobb Hospital.
Jeffrey Winter, MD, FACS has 15 years of experience in
vascular surgery in the Atlanta area and is a Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons. He serves as Vice Chairman of
Surgery at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. Dr. Winter's first experience
in vascular surgery was working with Dr. Herbert Dardik, who
developed the umbilical vein bypass. It was Dr. Dardik's
expertise and compassion that motivated Dr. Winter to pursue a
career in vascular surgery. Later, during his fellowship at
Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Winter trained under two of the
foremost aortic surgeons in the country. In 2008, he merged his
established vascular care practice with Vascular Surgical
Associates. In addition to treating the full array of vascular
cases, Dr. Winter is also active at the Cobb Wound Center, where
he treats complex vascular wounds. He is a member of the Georgia
chapter of the American College of Surgeons, the Medical
Association of Georgia, and the Cobb County Medical Association.
